Continuity properties of the normal cone to the level sets of a quasiconvex function

Two main properties of the subgradient mapping of convex functions are transposed for quasiconvex ones. The continuity of the functionxf(x)^–1f(x) on the domain where it is defined is deduced from some continuity properties of the normal coneN to the level sets of the quasiconvex functionf. We also prove that, under a pseudoconvexity-type condition, the normal coneN(x) to the set {x:f(x)f(x)} can be expressed as the convex hull of the limits of type {N(x _n)}, where {x _n} is a sequence converging tox and contained in a dense subsetD. In particular, whenf is pseudoconvex,D can be taken equal to the set of points wheref is differentiable.This research was completed while the second author was on a sabbatical leave at the University of Montreal and was supported by a NSERC grant. 交替三线性分解算法结合高效液相色谱法同时测定水杨酸与龙胆酸

利用交替三线性分解算法(ATLD)与高效液相色谱法相结合,在色谱保留时间为0.662 8~0.949 5min(间隔1/150 min)、紫外吸收波长为268~332 nm(间隔2 nm)且在未知干扰物2,3-二羟基苯甲酸存在下,同时测定了水溶液中光谱及色谱严重重叠的水杨酸(SA)和龙胆酸(GA)的含量,回收率分别为(102.2±6.7)%,(102.1±4.1)%,分辨结果与实际结果一致。研究结果表明:该方法定量快速准确、实验操作步骤简单,说明ATLD算法收敛快速稳定,对复杂体系中组分数估计不敏感,能有效解决色谱中的二阶校正问题。     

肉桂酸类分子非线性光学效应的理论研究

计算了一系列肉桂酸（苯基丙烯酸）类化合物的二阶非线性光学系数，系统地研究了取代基的电子性质和取代位置对其非线性光学性质的影响，并且探讨了该类化合物的饱和取代效应．研究表明，该类化合物的非线性光学性质与其分子结构有着密切的关系．     

双核配合物[Cu2(TS)(H2O)]·CH3OH的自组装制备和晶体结构

The binuclear complex [Cu₂(TS)(H₂O)]·CH₃OH, where TS denotes the binucleating ligand derived from the schiff base N,N′-bis(3-carboxylsalidene)trimethylenediamine, was obtained from the self-decomposition of mononuclear complex Na₂CuTS·H₂O. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2₁/c. The lattice parameters are a=11.935(2)?,b=15.667(3)?,c=11.621(2)?,β=111.60(3)°,V=2020.2(7)?³, Z=4 with R=0.0467. The structure is made of binuclear units, in which two copper atoms are bridged by two phenolic oxygen atoms. The “inside”copper atom is coordinated by two nitrogens, two phenolic oxygens in a planar coordi-nation site, the copper atom deviates from the mean plane by 0.47?. The “outside” copper atom is five coordinated by two phenolic oxygen atoms、two equatorial carboxyl oxygen atoms and one axial water oxygen atom in a distorted tetragonal cone site, the copper atom is pulled out of the equatorial plane by 0.46?.     

Convergence of an augmented Lagrange algorithm for nonlinear optimizations with second-order cone constraints

An augmented Lagrange algorithm for nonlinear optimizations with second-order cone constraints is proposed based on a Löwner operator associated with a potential function for the optimization problems with inequality constraints. The favorable properties of both the Löwner operator and the corresponding augmented Lagrangian are discussed. And under some mild assumptions, the rate of convergence of the augmented Lagrange algorithm is studied in detail.     

New Results on Generalized $c$-Distance Without Continuity in Cone $b$-Metric Spaces over Banach Algebras

In this work, some new fixed point results for generalized Lipschitz mappings on generalized $c$-distance in cone $b$-metric spaces over Banach algebras are obtained, not acquiring the condition that the underlying cone should be normal or the mappings should be continuous. Furthermore, the existence and the uniqueness of the fixed point are proven for such mappings. These results greatly improve and generalize several well-known comparable results in the literature. Moreover, some examples and an application are given to support our new results.     

Regularity of Viscosity Solutions of the Biased Infinity Laplacian Equation

In this paper, we are interested in the regularity estimates of the nonnegative viscosity super solution of the $β$−biased infinity Laplacian equation $$∆^β_∞u = 0,$$ where $β ∈ \mathbb{R}$ is a fixed constant and $∆^β_∞u := ∆^N_∞u + β|Du|,$ which arises from the random game named biased tug-of-war. By studying directly the $β$−biased infinity Laplacian equation, we construct the appropriate exponential cones as barrier functions to establish a key estimate. Based on this estimate, we obtain the Harnack inequality, Hopf boundary point lemma, Lipschitz estimate and the Liouville property etc.     

On Two-point Boundary Value Problems for Second-order Difference Equation

In this paper, we aim to investigate the difference equation \begin{align*} \Delta^{2}y(t-1)+|y(t)|=0, \ \ \ \ \ t\in[1,T]_{\mathbb{Z}} \end{align*} with different boundary conditions $y(0)=0$ or $\Delta y(0)=0$ and $y(T+1)=B$ or $\Delta y(T)=B$,\ where\ $T\geq 1$ is an integer and $B\in\mathbb{R}$. We will show that how the values of $T$ and $B$ influence the existence and uniqueness of the solutions to the about problem. In details, for the different problems, the $TB$-plane explicitly divided into different parts according to the number of the solutions to the above problems. These parts of $TB$-plane for the value of $T$ and $B$ guarantee the uniqueness, the existence and the nonexistence of solutions respectively.     

Dynamic stability of carbonyl ylides

The non- and fluorine-substituted singlet carbonyl ylides are studied by using ab initio MCSCF calculations. The thermodynamic stability of the carbonyl ylides and the intramolecular stability to isomerization or fragmentation reaction coordinates is demonstrated in terms of the topological structure of the ab initio potential energy surfaces. The allylic resonance is found to be dynamically unstable, considering out-of-plane vibrational mode. The instability is studied by the symmetries of the low-lying excitations out of the MCSCF wave function.     

The application of the concept of reaction layer to the study of electrode processes coupled with the second-order chemical reactions at microelectrodes under steady-state conditions

Under steady-state conditions, the current equations of the second-order EC, ECE and DISPI reactions at microdisk, microspherical and microring electrodes are derived with the aid of the concept of the reaction layer. The conditions under which these equations would be valid are also discussed. Using these equations, methods to determine the kinetic parameters for the second-order EC, ECE and DISPI reactions are presented. The reduction of 2,6-diphenyl-pyrylium cation and oxidation of triphenylamine were investigated as examples of the second-order EC and ECE reactions.
